LAKEWOOD, COLO.– BHSU comes back from being down 2-0 to win game four thanks to a late Taylor Dowden run in extras and complete the series split versus RMAC-leaders Colorado Christian. Laci Peskey pitched 11 innings today and had 18 strikeouts including nine in her game four relief appearance. It is the first series split versus CCU in program history.

HOW IT HAPPENED – GAME 3
• After, BHSU left two girls on base in the top of the first, Peyton Marvel led off the bottom of the first with a solo home run to give CCU an early 1-0 lead. Peskey would strike out the next three batters
• CCU led off the bottom of the second with a deep center field double off the bat of Kat Hanson. Hanson advanced to third on a perfect sacrifice bunt by Mia Stankiewicz and scored on a perfect sacrifice fly by Danae Lopez, which gave CCU a 2-0 lead.
• Tyler Whitlock led off the top of the third with a walk and stole second on the strikeout pitch of Carly Reyes Mims. With two outs, Ashlynn Pauwels delivered again with an RBI double off the left center wall to cut the lead to 2-1.
• Despite both BHSU and CCU getting runners in scoring position, no more runs scored and BHSU took the loss 2-1, with Peskey finishing with nine strikeouts

HOW IT HAPPENED- GAME 4
• Paige Goodell took a no-hitter into the fourth inning with the game tied 0-0 and allowed a leadoff walk. Coach Ashlyn Englehorn went to her bullpen and put in Malaya Coleman, who got Cheyenne Stark to ground into a double play to make it two outs. She would give up a double to Elyse McMullin and another double to Stankiewicz to give CCU the 1-0 lead. Lopez would single to score Stankiewicz and CCU took a 2-0 lead headed into the fifth.
• Coleman dominated the next inning and BHSU took the box in the top of the sixth. After Whitlock grounded out, Reyes Mims reached on an error but was forced out at second on a Hernandez fielder’s choice, putting Hernandez on base for Pauwels. Pauwels would send the ball to right center and tie the game at 2-2 heading into the bottom of the innings.
• Laci Peskey would come into pitch, and no one would score in either the sixth or the seventh innings. Peskey would continue to dominate in the eighth and ninth innings, before BHSU was up to bat in the top of the tenth. Dowden walked to lead off the inning and was advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt from Tyler Whitlock. Reyes Mims hit a sacrifice fly to send her to third and Dowden made it home on a wild pitch by McMullin. This gave BHSU a 3-2 lead. In the bottom of the inning, Peskey struck out the leadoff batter, walked Marvel, struck out Hanson while Marvel stole second putting the tying run in scoring position. She would then walk Rachel Williams, which brought up Cheyenne Stark with two on and two out. Peskey would strike out Stark on three pitches to win the game for the Yellow Jackets 3-2.
