Douglas Early Bird Track and Field meet held Tuesday

BOX ELDER, S.D. – The annual Douglas Early Bird Track and Field meet was held Tuesday.

Kincade Lehman of Custer set a new state in the boys triple jump.

Lehman broke the record of 47 feet 11.50 inches set in 1991 by Bud Hamilton of Hot Springs with a jump of 48 feet 7.25 inches. Lehman also won the long jump Tuesday.

In other boys results, Danny Immormino of Custer won the 100 meters, Marcus Kuehl of Rapid City Stevens won the 200, David McKinley of Philip won the 400, Miles Brekhus of Rapid City Stevens won the 800, Tate Van Beek of Stevens won the 1,600 and Jack Peterson of Philip catured the 3,200 meters. Jack Day of Stevens won both the 110 and 300 meter hurdles.

In the relay races, Stevens won the 4×100 and the 4×200. Hill City captures the 4×400 and Sturgis won the 4×800.

Evan Kroetch of Philip was a double event winner in the field events, winning both the shot put and discus.

Manny Jarmillo of Sturgis won the pole vault.

On the women’ side, Jordyn Larson of Stevens won the 100 and 200 meters while Iris Zylstra of Sturgis captured the 400 meters. Avery Dormann of Stevens won the 800, Brinna Sheldon of Stevens claimed the 1,600 and Kira Ubence of Douglas won the 3,200 meters.

In the relay races, Stevens won the 4×100 and the 4×200, Custer won the 4×400 and Belle Fourche captured the 4×800.

In field events, Karyn Ellerton of Custer was a double event winner, taking the shot put and discus throw.

Danica Dschaak of Sturgis won the high jump and her teammate Avery Marler won the long jump.
