Multi-Agency Cooperation Leads to Arrest of Burglary Suspect

STURGIS, S.D. – The Meade County Sheriff’s Office a coordinated effort between multiple law enforcement agencies has led to the arrest of a Nebraska man allegedly involved in a burglary spree.

Chief Deputy James Johns says 50-year-old Andrew Hesser of Gordon, Nebraska, was arrested on March 28 in Rapid City on an outstanding Meade County warrant related to a February 5th burglar at the Valley Market in Piedmont.

Hesser has been charged with grand theft, burglar and intentional damage to private property.

Johns says Hesser is also a suspect in multiple burglaries and thefts across several jurisdictions including Meade and Fall River County in South Dakota as well as in Gordon and Chadron, Nebraska.

Hesser is currently being held in the Meade County Jail.

“This arrest is a testament to the dedication and cooperation of law enforcement agencies across the region,” said Sheriff Pat West. “By working together, we enhance public safety and ensure that those responsible for criminal activity are brought to justice.”
