• With the game tied at one in the top of the fifth, Peskey allowed a one-out single to Lauren Romero, before striking out Emily Rodgers to make it two outs. Tom would reach on an infield single and Self hit a two-RBI double to give CSM a 3-1 lead.
• Cassidy Chvatal would hit her 14th home run of the season in the sixth inning to give CSM a 4-1 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth. BHSU was able to get one back in the sixth as Ashlynn Pauwels hit a leadoff double and pinch-runner Andria Fitch advanced to third on a wild pitch. HOW IT HAPPENED- GAME 2
• Tom started the game off with a leadoff single and stole second. Aragon also hit a single and advanced to second on the throw, which allowed Tom to go to third. Chvatal flied out down the right field line, which allowed both runners to score on the sacrifice fly and give CSM a 2-0 lead in the first. Tyler Whitlock hit a little league inside the park home run to cut the lead to 2-1 heading into the second.
• Hannah Roberts led off the inning with a single and Kailey Morales walked. Mia Lopez singled to score Roberts and advance Morales to second. Tom flew out which advanced both runners, and with two outs, Self hit a two-RBI single to give CSM a 5-1 lead. Aragon doubled Self to third and Chvatal hit a triple to score both runners and increase the lead to 7-1.
• Taylor Dowden hit a one-out double in the bottom of the second inning and Laci Peskey doubled her home to get BHSU to two runs. Whitlock doubled in Laci Peskey for her second RBI of the game and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Reyes Mims hit an RBI single and BHSU had cut the lead to 7-4 at the end of the second inning.
• BHSU kept crawling back. In the bottom of the fourth, Peskey hit a solo home run to get BHSU within two. Then Little Wong singled and scored on a double by Carly Reyes Mims, which got the lead down to one.
• In the bottom of the fifth, Carli Maley led off the inning with a single and Dowden singled the pinch-runner Gietzen to third. Peskey hit her third RBI of the day with a singled that tied the game at 7-7. Throughout this game, Paige Goodell came in the third inning in relief of Malaya Coleman and had only allowed two singles in four innings and kept BHSU in it. BHSU had a chance to win it in the bottom of the sixth when Pauwels hit a double with two outs but could not get her home and they had a chance in the seventh when Simmons was on third with two outs, but could not drive her in, so we headed to extras.
• CSM went 1-2-3 in the eighth inning, and BHSU once again had a girl in scoring position, but could not bring her home, so we headed to the ninth. After getting the first out, Goodell allowed a single to Aragon and a double to Chvatal to put runners on second and third. Peskey entered the circle in relief and immediately allowed Aragon to score on a wild pitch. Lexie Semeyn hit a lineout that allowed the pinch-runner Whisenand to come home and give CSM a 9-7 lead. Rodgers singled, stole second and advanced all the way home on an error from the catcher, which gave CSM a 10-7 lead. BHSU couldn’t get a batter across in the bottom of the ninth, so the Yellow Jackets comeback came up short as the Yellow Jackets lose their sixth straight.
