RAPID CITY, S.D. – A former television news anchor charged with domestic violence will go to trial in June.
Shad Olson was accused of assaulting a woman at her home in February of 2024.
Court documents indicate Olson allegedly grabbed the woman by her shoulders and pushed her to the ground multiple times.
He was initially charged with aggravated assault-domestic violence. However, that charged was dropped in November of 2024 and he now faces a charge of simple assault-domestic violence.
Olson backed out of a plea agreement and will now face a jury trial.
A pretrial motions hearing has been set for May 22nd with the trial scheduled to start on June 5.
