MITCHELL, S.D. – South Dakota Governor Larry Rhoden’s Open for Opportunity tour took him to Mitchell on Monday, where he visited Boyd’s Gunstocks.

That’s where Rhoden signed three bills reinforcing second-amendment rights.

State Representative Kaley Nolz of Mitchell was the prime sponsor of HB 1222 and looked on as Governor Rhoden signed the bill.

During his visit to Boyd’s Gunstocks, the Governor also signed a letter to U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel regarding current a law requiring a seven-day waiting period before shipping products such as firearms or silencers.

The Governor says the law doesn’t make sense.

Rhoden says the issue was brought to his attention last week by Sioux Falls-based Silencer Central CEO and owner Brandon Maddox.
