Lucille Gene Dye

Lucille Gene Dye passed into glory peacefully on March 12, 2025, one day before her 88th birthday.

She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at the age of 14 when she attended a Bill Bright Campus Crusade for Christ at her high school in Blythe, CA. Lucille went on to serve her Savior faithfully. She led Bible studies in the Old and New Testament for 50 years. And helped many find their way into God’s Kingdom. Lucille, and her late husband, Jim Dye, were long-time members of Rimrock Evangelical Free Church. Lucille received her nursing degree in 1971 and retired in 1991. During her career as LPN, she worked for an eye specialist, assisting him in surgery, a urologist and a general surgeon. She loved the medical field and aspired to become a doctor – an unrealized dream. Jim and Lucille traveled extensively during their retirement years and experienced many wonderful adventures together. Lucille loved to help her husband create many woodworking projects. They moved to St. Martin’s Village in 2013 where Jim passed away in 2015. For the following ten years, Jim and Sharon included Lucille in their family in every way. She traveled with them to CA and CO to visit family and she was part of every family celebration. In 2022, she moved next door to Jim and Sharon and was part of their everyday life along with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed visits from her out-of-state children and grandchildren and her dear friends from Rimrock. She loved to feed the neighborhood birds and hand out chocolate treats to her great grandchildren.

Lucille was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years. She longed to go home to be with him and her Lord and did not fear death. She is survived by two daughters, Colleen Robinson (Bill) Seeley Lake, MT, Sharon Hansen (Jim) Rapid City, SD, and one son, James Warner Dye (Jody) Gig Harbour, WA. Lucille and Jim had 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Lucille’s family and friends celebrate her life and the fact that she has assurance of eternal life with Jesus Christ because of what He accomplished on the cross of Calvary. The end of her life here on this earth marks the dawning of a wonderful new life in the presence of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.

Lucille will be honored at a short service at Black Hills National Cemetery on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 10:30 AM.
