RC Fire crews knock down fire in vacant house

RAPID CITY, S.D. – No injuries were reported in an early morning structure fire in Rapid City.

The Rapid City Fire Department says they responded to a structure fire just before 7:00 a.m. Tuesday morning in the 1300 block of Kansas City Street.

Upon arrival, crews noticed smoke coming from multiple sides of the home and a fire was located in the basement.

Fire officials say this was a vacant house and a search by crews confirmed no one was inside.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire and the cause remains under investigation.
