Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 40 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists in a steely performance befitting the NBA MVP and the Oklahoma City Thunder snapped back from a 42-point loss by beating the Minnesota Timberwolves 128-126 in Game 4 to take a 3-1 lead in the Western Conference finals. Jalen Williams scored 34 points on 13-for-24 shooting, including 6 of 9 from 3-point range. Takeaways: Trump’s campaign has received scores of donations from problematic donors

When President Donald Trump directed his attorney general last month to investigate online fundraising, he cited concerns that foreigners and fraudsters were using elaborate “schemes“ and “dummy accounts” to funnel illegal contributions to politicians and causes. Instead of calling for an expansive probe, however, the president identified just one potential target: ActBlue, the Democrats’ online fundraising juggernaut. ActBlue has acknowledged receiving over 200 potentially illicit contributions last year from foreign internet addresses. Trump’s announcement also contained a glaring omission — his own political committees have received scores of contributions from potentially problematic donors.

Insect-eating Venus flytraps thrive in the Carolinas as hikers peek into their native ecosystem

Some of the most unique living things in the world — plants that supplement the nutrients they get from sunlight by digesting ants, flies and spiders — are only found in a small part of North and South Carolina. Venus flytraps in the wild aren’t like the human-size, ravenous and cruel Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors. Instead, they are the size of a lima bean and mean no harm to anything other than insects. Their special hairs snap their leaves together when brushed — but only twice in about 20 seconds or less to reduce the amount of false alarms by dust or rain.

Hurricanes avoid another sweep, stave off elimination by beating Panthers 3-0 in Game 4

Frederik Andersen returned to the net and stopped 20 shots for his fifth career playoff shutout, Logan Stankoven got the only goal Carolina needed and the Hurricanes won their first Eastern Conference finals game in nearly 20 years by beating the Florida Panthers 3-0 on Monday night to stave off elimination. Sebastian Aho and Jordan Staal got empty-netters to seal it for the Hurricanes. They had dropped 15 consecutive East finals games, getting swept in 2009, 2019 and 2023, then dropping the first three games of this matchup. No sweep this time, however. Carolina still trails the series 3-1. Game 5 is Wednesday.

Brewers demote Logan Henderson despite his success as team anticipates return of other pitchers

Logan Henderson is headed for the minors despite being one of the best pitchers in the Milwaukee Brewers’ injury-plagued rotation this season. The Brewers optioned Henderson to Triple-A Nashville while reinstating DL Hall from the 60-day injured list. The move came Monday prior to Milwaukee’s game against the Boston Red Sox in the afternoon. Manager Pat Murphy said “the kid has been so good,” but with the Brewers expecting the return of two other key rotation members, the timing is right to send him down.

From radio waves to temple domes: The unexpected journey of a Krishna couple in Utah

A couple who moved from Los Angeles to Utah about 45 years ago to run a radio station are now operating the only Hindu temple in a predominantly Mormon town. The 10,000-square-foot temple in a rural part of Utah called Spanish Fork sits on a 15-acre property that hosts one of the largest color festivals outside India every spring. The temple grounds have fruit and vegetable gardens, enclosures for llamas, peacocks and parrots and offers a donation-based vegetarian buffet daily. Members of the surrounding community, most of whom are Latter-day Saints, support the temple. Their revamped radio station now broadcasts rap and modern music composed and compiled to cater to a younger, Western audience.
