Winds again wreaking havoc across area

STURGIS, S.D. – The area once again is feeling the effects of high winds, leading to damage, accidents and power outages on Friday.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol has been responding to a number of overturned semi-trucks on I-90 across Western South Dakota, including one near Murdo, another at mile marker 93 and another near mile marker 73.

The patrol says the accident near mile marker 73 resulted in serious injuries to the driver. Minor injuries were reported in the other two crashes.

Power outages were also being reported across the Black Hills and across western South Dakota.

High Wind Warnings were up for the entire area today with gusts up to 80 mph.
