RAPID CITY, S.D. — From pinball and blues to stand-up comedy and high-octane rodeo action, Rapid City’s weekend calendar is stacked with entertainment options for all ages. Whether you’re looking to dance, laugh, rock out, or cheer on the cowboys, there’s no shortage of ways to fill your Friday and Saturday.
Friday Events
The weekend kicks off Friday afternoon at Hay Camp Brewing Company with Free Pinball Fridays starting at 4 p.m. The family-friendly social session runs for two hours and welcomes players of all experience levels. Hosted alongside Heroes & Villains, the event offers a relaxed environment to learn the game, meet local pinball enthusiasts, and enjoy beverages from the brewery.
Later that evening, internationally touring artist Hamilton Loomis returns to the Black Hills for a live performance at 707 Nightlife. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the show beginning at 7 p.m. Known for his electrifying blend of blues, rock, soul, and funk, Loomis brings a high-energy experience to the all-ages venue. General admission seating is available on the dance floor and in the elevated tiered area, with limited stage-front reserved tables offered as an upgrade.
For fans of heavy music, ABY’s Bar hosts a high-octane lineup featuring Dead Marthas, Diaphane, and Mildred. The all-ages show begins at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6, and admission is $10 at the door. The night promises loud guitars, winter heat, and a full-throttle local music showcase.
Meanwhile, the Central States Fairgrounds will debut a brand-new event, Rope, Ride & Slide, starting at 7 p.m. The action-packed program features team roping, saddle bronc riding, and steer wrestling in a fast-paced, back-to-back format designed to keep the energy high and the crowd engaged. The event blends competitive rodeo with entertainment-driven flair, offering a fresh take for longtime fans and newcomers alike.
Comedy lovers can cap off Friday at West River Comedy Club, where Logan Guntzelman takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. The Los Angeles-based comedian has appeared on HBO, Comedy Central, and Hulu, and has performed at major festivals including Just For Laughs, SXSW, and Netflix Is A Joke. Her sharp humor and national touring experience make for a standout night of laughs.
Saturday Events
Saturday evening begins with local favorite Johnny Hastings performing live at BIN 605 at 6 p.m. The show carries no cover charge, with seating available on a first-come, first-served basis. Known for his raw, energetic style, Hastings delivers a laid-back yet engaging night of live music.
At 7 p.m., Black Hills artist Luke Graves brings a solo piano and vocal performance to ABY’s, offering a more intimate musical experience showcasing local talent.
Also at ABY’s on Saturday is the Winter Bash, a multi-band event featuring Fueled By Spite, Goodfire, Indigent, Wicked Six, and Shameless. The all-ages show begins at 7 p.m., with tickets priced at $15 in advance and $20 at the door.
Wrapping up the weekend, Stereo Trip performs live at the DoubleTree by Hilton Rapid City Downtown Convention Center in the Coke Corral Room from 9 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. The 21-and-over show features a $25 cover and promises an energetic night of rock music, dancing, and late-night fun.
