Usera, Balliew win Belle Fourche Invitational

BELLE FOURCHE, S.D. – In cross country, the Belle Fourche Invitational was held Thursday morning at the Belle Fourche Country Club.

In the girls’ varsity race, Amara Usera of St Thomas More won in a time of 20:21.48. Kira Ubence of Douglas finished in second with a time of 20:46.58.

Rhys Pearson of Belle Fourche finished third and her teammate Lia Mundt was fourth. Aurora Evans of Douglas rounded out the top five.

Winning the boys race in a time of 16:47.33 was Wyatt Balliew of Douglas. Newcastle’s Sam Cunningham came in second with a time of 17:10.40.

Kian Rusch of Custer finished third with Bennie Olsen of Douglas coming in fourth. Jayden Taken Alive of Cheyenne Eagle Butte rounded out the top five for the boys.
