RAPID CITY, S.D. — A familiar name in golf broadcasting is stepping into a new role in Rapid City, and she is inviting the community to come see what’s next.

Tina Heinbaugh has accepted the position of head golf professional at Meadowbrook Golf Club, returning to in-person operations after 11 years working with NBC Sports and the Golf Channel. Now back in a public-facing role, Tina says she is excited to reconnect with the community and reimagine Meadowbrook as more than just a golf course.

“I’m excited to be public-facing again,” Tina said. “To be around the golf course and help introduce people to a game that has been very impactful on me as a human and very generous to me as a professional.”

To mark the new chapter, Meadowbrook will host an open house from 1 to 3 p.m. at the clubhouse, located at 3625 Jackson Boulevard. The event will include pizza donated by Marco’s Pizza, along with cake and cookies provided by the city. Tina said the open house is an opportunity for residents to meet her, ask questions and hear about her vision for the future of the course.

That vision includes expanding Meadowbrook’s identity as a city asset that welcomes more than just golfers.

Tina hopes to introduce creekside yoga sessions during the summer, host family-centered events like movie nights on the driving range, glow ball tournaments played with illuminated golf balls and even acoustic open mic nights where residents can bring lawn chairs and enjoy live music outdoors.

“How do we take this city asset that is so prominent in the center of town and make it more visible and accessible to people other than those that are coming just to play golf?” she said.

She is also working to refresh the club’s branding, including a redesigned logo, updated signage and revamped apparel offerings. New vendors are being introduced to the pro shop, featuring brands that are typically only available at specialty golf clubs rather than big box stores.

Beyond events and retail, Tina is focused on expanding lesson programs, revitalizing junior golf and creating tournaments open to the public. She emphasized that players do not need to be passholders to participate in many of the club’s events.

The website, golfatmeadowbrook.com, is currently being updated to reflect the new direction, and community members are encouraged to visit the open house to learn more.

For Tina, the move marks both a professional shift and a personal one.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun,” she said. “I’m just grateful for the opportunity and want to do a good job.”

The Meadowbrook Golf Club open house runs Thursday, February 12th from 1 to 3 p.m. at 3625 Jackson Boulevard.
