Head of group suing over White House ballroom says she trusts Trump-picked chairman to do his job
The president of the National Trust for Historic Preservation says she trusts the Trump-appointed chairman of a federal planning commission to do his job and seriously review President Donald Trump’s proposal to build a ballroom at the White House. Carol Quillen said Friday that she takes Will Scharf “at his word.” Scharf recently said the National Capital Planning Commission will conduct a serious and deliberative review of the ballroom plans. Scharf is a top White House aide to Trump. The National Trust has sued to halt construction until several independent reviews are conducted.
