Trump is fighting the Institute of Peace in court. Now, his name is on the building

The Trump administration has renamed the U.S. Institute of Peace after President Donald Trump and planted the president’s name on the organization’s headquarters despite an ongoing fight over the institute’s control. The U.S. Institute of Peace, a nonprofit think tank that focuses on peace initiatives, has been caught in a seesaw court battle since March, when the president signed off on a Department of Government Efficiency takeover. On Wednesday, the administration said it renamed it the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace and the new name could be seen on its building near the State Department. The department said in a post on X that it renamed the institute after the president Wednesday morning.
