Tucker, Bichette, Schwarber among 13 to get $22 million qualifying offers from former teams
Thirteen players, including Kyle Tucker, Bo Bichette, and Kyle Schwarber, have received $22,025,000 qualifying offers from their former teams. The offers were made as the free agent market opened for negotiations. Dylan Cease, Edwin Diaz, and Trent Grisham are also on the list. They have until Nov. 18 to accept. If a player signs with another team, his former club gets a draft pick as compensation. Qualifying offers started after the 2012 season, with only 14 of 144 offers accepted. Some free agents, like Pete Alonso and Cody Bellinger, are ineligible for these offers.
