Pittsburgh Steelers tight end/fullback Connor Heyward is embracing his family’s legacy. The son of former NFL running back Craig “Ironhead” Heyward and brother to star defensive tackle Cam Heyward has been selected as a Pro Bowl alternate for the first time in his career. While Connor Heyward lacks the physical stature of his brother, he has carved out a role as a versatile player who fulfills a variety of roles on offense and special teams. Connor Heyward says he is aware that his play will never be enough to satisfy some critics who believe he’s only in the NFL because of his last name.
