Flyers GM Danny Briere says Carter Hart won’t return to team after acquittal on assault charges
Philadelphia Flyers general manager Danny Briere says Carter Hart’s agent has informed the team that the goalie has ruled out a return to the Flyers. Hart is one of five players acquitted of sexual assault charges stemming from a 2018 incident involving Canada’s world junior team. The NHL has said these players can sign contracts starting Oct. 15 and participate in games from Dec. 1. Briere says Hart is looking for a fresh start after the events of the past year and a half. None of the players currently have contracts and all are free agents.
