A decade ago, Nick Reiner and his father Rob Reiner seemed to have mended their strained relationship through the film “Being Charlie,” which they made together. Nick Reiner has now been booked on suspicion of killing both his father, the actor-director Reiner, and his mother, Michele Singer Reiner. “Being Charlie,” released in 2016, was directed by Rob Reiner and co-written by Nick Reiner. It included elements of their lives and helped them understand each other better. Nick Reiner spent years struggling with addiction and had periods of homelessness. He led a largely private life both before and after the film’s release.
