Federal border agents launch immigration crackdown in New Orleans
The Department of Homeland Security has launched an immigration crackdown in New Orleans, saying the operation targets violent criminals. Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement that the operation launched Wednesday targets immigrants released after their arrests for crimes such as home invasion, armed robbery and rape. McLaughlin says sanctuary policies endanger American communities and force law enforcement to risk their lives removing criminals “that should have never been put back on the streets.”
