Nelly Korda has a 64 in the cold and wind to take lead in LPGA opener
The worst weather has brought the best in Nelly Korda. She had seven birdies and an eagle that carried her to a 64 in the Tournament of Champions. It was the lowest score of the tournament on the toughest day. Temperatures felt like they were in the 40s because of 20 mph wind that with gusts twice as strong. It got so rough toward the end the LPGA had to suspend play when Youmin Hwang’s putt was blown off the green. Korda was three ahead of Amy Yang. Yang still had two holes left to play at Lake Nona.
