Nelly Korda wins the season opener on the LPGA without having to hit a shot on Sunday
Nelly Korda is a winner again after the Tournament of Champions was reduced to 54 holes because of cold and wind. Korda didn’t have to hit a shot Sunday at Lake Nona to win by three shots for her 16th LPGA Tour title. It was her first victory since November 2024, a year when she had seven wins. Temperatures were below freezing with a wind chill in the teens on Sunday. Korda won this with a 64 on Saturday in cold weather and gusts up to 40 mph. Amy Yang was the only player who could have caught her. She played two holes Sunday.
