Mountain lion spotted in San Francisco, officials working to capture it

A young mountain lion has been spotted roaming the streets of San Francisco. Authorities say the animal was located near Lafayette Park, where wildlife officials are trying to capture it safely. Residents were warned Monday about the sighting in the Pacific Heights neighborhood and advised to back away if they encountered the lion. Animal Care and Control, police, and state wildlife officials are working together on the capture. Mountain lion sightings are rare in San Francisco, but similar incidents have occurred before. Experts say these animals often wander from the hills south of the city but usually return to the wilderness.
