Some Republicans express concern over the tactics used in Minnesota and urge shooting investigation
Some Republicans are expressing growing concern about the tactics that federal immigration officials are using in Minnesota. They’re speaking out after a U.S. Border Patrol agent fatally shot a man in Minneapolis on Saturday. Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt say the death of Alex Pretti, a nurse who was protesting President Donald Trump’s immigration policies, was a “real tragedy.” Stitt tells CNN that Americans are worried about federal tactics and accountability. He’s urging Trump to provide solutions instead of politicizing the situation. Two Republican senators, Thom Tillis and Bill Cassidy, also are voicing unease. Meanwhile, administration officials are defending the government’s hard-line approach and blaming local Democratic leaders for unrest.
