Luka Doncic scored 43 points in his first season opener with the Los Angeles Lakers, and it wasn’t enough to propel his team past the Golden State Warriors. The Lakers are still figuring out how to play without LeBron James, who will be sidelined by sciatica for at least the next few weeks. This loss was a preview of the pitfalls and the possibilities for the Lakers without the top scorer in NBA history. Doncic was aggressive and outstanding when he got into the paint against the smallish Warriors, going 15 of 17 inside the 3-point line.
