Oklahoma QB John Mateer throws 3 interceptions vs. Texas in return 3 weeks after hand injury
Oklahoma quarterback John Mateer threw for 202 yards and three interceptions in his return for sixth-ranked Oklahoma. That came in a 23-6 loss to Red River rival Texas on Saturday, only 17 days after having surgery on his throwing hand. Mateer completed 20 of 38 passes and says he felt fine physically. The junior transfer quarterback says he just didn’t play good enough for the 5-1 Sooners. He got hurt three weeks ago in a win over Auburn before surgery during the bye week and not playing last week.
