New York Jets’ Kris Boyd surprises teammates with return after being shot

New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd returned to the team’s facility just over two weeks after being shot in Manhattan. ESPN reports Boyd surprised his teammates Wednesday by attending a special teams meeting. Last Wednesday, Boyd posted on Instagram about “health issues” that sent him back to the hospital. He was shot on November 16 near Times Square and taken to Bellevue Hospital. Police have released images of a suspect, but no arrests have been made. Boyd hasn’t played this season due to a shoulder injury. He signed a one-year contract with the Jets in March.

Jets’ Kris Boyd says in Instagram post he’s back in hospital after recent shooting

New York Jets cornerback Kris Boyd has returned to the hospital after being released following a shooting in midtown Manhattan on November 16. Boyd shared on Instagram that health issues required his return to the hospital. Jets coach Aaron Glenn confirmed Friday that Boyd had been readmitted. Boyd was shot in the abdomen and the shooter fled the scene. New York police have released surveillance images of a suspect. Boyd, who hasn’t played this season because of a shoulder injury, signed with the Jets in March.
