Jets’ Braelon Allen placed on IR with knee injury; Khalil Herbert signed to help replace him
The New York Jets have placed running back Braelon Allen on injured reserve because of a knee injury. Allen will be sidelined for at least four weeks. Allen was injured last Monday night during a game against Miami. The Jets signed veteran Khalil Herbert on Thursday to fill Allen’s roster spot. With Allen out, Isaiah Davis is expected to see more playing time behind starter Breece Hall. Herbert spent his first three-plus seasons with Chicago and was teammates with Jets quarterback Justin Fields. Herbert was cut from Seattle’s practice squad on Wednesday.
