Republicans reject complaint about Gabbard as Democrats question time it took to see it
The Republican lawmakers in charge of the House and Senate intelligence committees have rejected an anonymous complaint from last year alleging that Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard withheld access to classified information for political reasons. Sen. Tom Cotton and Rep. Rick Crawford also dismissed allegations from Democratic lawmakers that Gabbard tried to delay referring the complaint to Congress as required by law. Cotton said Thursday that he endorses an earlier inspector general determination that the complaint was not credible. Democratic Sen. Mark Warner said he wants to know why it took Gabbard’s office eight months to refer the matter to Congress and still has questions about the details in the complaint.
