Wisconsin judge accused of helping immigrant set to present her case as trial winds down

A Wisconsin judge accused of helping a Mexican immigrant evade federal authorities is set to present her case as her trial on obstruction and concealment charges winds down. Prosecutors rested their case against Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan on Wednesday after three days of testimony. A number of federal agents and officers told jurors they traveled to the Milwaukee courthouse to arrest Eduardo Flores-Ruiz after a hearing but Dugan cleared the way for his escape by telling them to go to the chief judge’s chambers and then leading Flores-Ruiz out through a private hallway. Defense attorneys say they plan to call four witnesses Thursday morning, with closing arguments set to follow.
