Republican Rep. Darrell Issa to stay in California after flirting with US House run in Texas
Republican Rep. Darrell Issa is staying in California. He’d been flirting with a move to Texas to run for Congress after a redrawn congressional map in California all but erased his district. But Issa said Thursday he believes he can hold his seat in San Diego and will seek re-election. Issa says he was encouraged to consider a jump to Texas by U.S. House members and residents of the Lone Star State. The national battle over House control has spiraled into other states. Much uncertainty remains, as court battles play out across the country over the new districts.
