College Football Playoff opens with 1 game Dec. 19 and 3 more on Dec. 20; TV and kickoff times set

The College Football Playoff will kick off with a first-round game on December 19, followed by three more on December 20. The Friday night game will start at 8 p.m. Eastern on ABC and ESPN. Saturday’s tripleheader will have kickoff times of noon, 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. ABC and ESPN will televise the noon game. TNT, truTV, and HBO Max will broadcast the other two games. The quarterfinals are on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 at bowl sites. Semifinals are Jan. 8 and 9 and the championship game is Jan. 19.
