49ers’ Mykel Williams out for season with torn ACL, adding to injury woes

San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Mykel Williams will miss the rest of the season after the first-round pick was diagnosed with torn ligaments in his right knee. Williams got hurt late in the fourth quarter of a win at the New York Giants. Tests confirmed a torn ACL. This injury adds to the 49ers’ defensive woes. Nick Bosa is already out with a knee injury, and Fred Warner has an ankle injury. The Niners will rely on Keion White to fill Williams’ role. White was acquired from New England last week. San Francisco also signed Clelin Ferrell to the practice squad.
