RAPID CITY, S.D. — Sundance Custom Steel is seeing strong interest at this year’s Black Hills Stock Show as crowds build heading into the weekend, according to Reggie Gaylord of Sundance Custom Steel.
Reggie said the event has been busy throughout the week, with momentum continuing to grow as the Stock Show moves toward its busiest days. While the early part of the week can slow down briefly between events, he said activity has remained steady.
“It’s been awesome,” Reggie said. “The weekend was insane, and even during the slower part of the week there was still good activity. Now it’s really rolling into the weekend.”
He said the return of rodeos and concerts has encouraged visitors to stay longer in Rapid City, giving vendors more opportunities to connect with customers.
At the Sundance Custom Steel booth, visitors are being introduced to a larger display than in previous years. Reggie said the expanded setup allows the company to showcase its full product line, including steel panels designed to resemble wood.
“We have seven different wood grains,” he said. “People come in and knock on them thinking it’s wood, and then they realize it’s steel.”
In addition to steel products, Sundance Custom Steel is also featuring ready-made shelters from Four Aces, another business operated by Reggie. He said the shelters are available for quick turnaround and are designed to help customers prepare ahead of severe weather.
“It’s seventy degrees right now, so people don’t think they need a shelter,” Reggie said. “But give it five minutes and they will.”
Reggie said the Stock Show continues to be one of the most valuable events of the year for meeting customers face to face and demonstrating how steel structures can be both durable and visually appealing.
Sundance Custom Steel’s booth will remain open throughout the remainder of the Black Hills Stock Show as attendance continues to build into the weekend.
