Sturgis officially begins search for City Administrator, Attorney

STURGIS, S.D. – Following their executive session at Monday Night’s meeting, the City of Sturgis approved a 30 day window to accept applications for City Administrator and City Attorney.

Former City Attorney Mark Marshal resigned, effective November 1.

In the interim, Ward 3 councilor Jim Thompson describes what happens in the interim.

As for City Administrator, the council approved a job description for the position in July and now the search for one begins.

Councilor Thompson says they are proposing a wage between $130 to $145-thousand dollars.

The deadline for applications will be December 4th and more information on the two open positions is available on the City of Sturgis webpage.
