STURGIS, S.D. – The Sturgis City Council met Monday night for their first December meeting and got a Sturgis Rally Financial Overview.
A preliminary report in front of the council shows the 2024 and 2025 financials reflect continued strength in rally activity, vendor participation and sponsorship performance.
Looking ahead, the city anticipates 2026 will be a solid year, supported in part by national marketing opportunities surrounding the country’s 250th birthday celebration.
Mayor Kevin Forreter says it’s important to note that Rally attendance and revenues traditionally soten in the year immediately following a major anniversary, such as in 2025. He says their 2026 revenue estimate incorporates this expected adjustment.
The council also get a comprehensive sales tax analysis in their report, covering 2011 through 2025, providing long-term trend context to support revenue assumptions and economic forecasting.
