STURGIS, S.D. – The Sturgis City Council on Tuesday night approved Resolution 2026-04, which will adopt the 2026 utility rates, as well as authorized implementation of corrected billing configurations that were effective January 1st.
The Resolution does not increase base utility rates this year but will modify the residential water base rate to include 2,000 gallons of water and adjust volumetric water rates to $3.25 per 1,000 gallons for residential customers and $3.50 per 1,000 gallons for commercial.
The city council also approved salaries and wages for 2026 and the ambulance service joint powers agreement between the Meade County Rural Ambulance District and the City.
Approval of the agreement will allow the city to continue providing regional ambulance services to the rural areas.
