Stateline, NV – The Rapid City Rush took the series win over the Tahoe Knight Monsters in a 3-2 shootout success at the Tahoe Blue Event Center.
Action started at 15:50 with a minor penalty on Mayer for cross checking . Seventeen seconds into the penalty. Ryan Chyzowski (Morin, Wagner )scored the power play goal.

Tahoe 11:26 LeBlanc double minor served consecutively:
2 minutes – holding
2 minutes – bench minor unsportsmanlike conduct
Tahoe 8:12 Durflinger – 2 minutes roughing
Clock adjustment adding 43 seconds to LeBlanc’s penalty
Rapid City 00:00 Hubbard -two- minute roughing
The first period ends 1- 0 in favor of the Rush.
Rapid City came into the second period a man down but killed the Hubbard minor penalty. Swick’s slashing penalty at 16:06 afforded Rapid City no gains.
The teddy bear activation goal by Casey Bailey (Adams , Swick) at 8:37 tied the game and will lead to a generous donation of stuffed toys to the Tahoe – Davis Fire Department..
Ryan Chyzowski ( Ekstrom) got the lead back to Rapid City at 3:46.
Luke Adams for Tahoe took a succession of penalties:
2:55 double minor served consecutively
2 minutes for slashing,
2 minutes for unsportsmanlike conduct – disputing the call
.55 10- minute misconduct
The second period ends 2- 1 in favor of the Rush.
Rapid City’s penalty kills saw action at 16:52 to kill a bench minor for too many men on the ice, served by Hubbarde. Devon Poliani (Alger, Mayer) tied the game at 14:31. Knight Monsters killed the penalty at 12:18 on a minor tripping call.
The third period ends 2-2.
The 7-minute three on three overtime was null forcing the shootout. Tahoe faced Nathan Torchia, and Rapid City faced Casey Whitehead.

Nathan Torchia, in his debut appearance this season, secured the win for Rapid City . He faced 35 shots and won the shootout. Casey Whitehead for the Tahoe Knight Monsters faced 45 shots.
Rapid City hosts the Tahoe Knight Monsters at The Monument on December 27th, 28th, and 31st. Each of these games is a promotional game : Bluey Night, Star Wars, and ’80s Night, respectively.
