
PRESHO, S.D. — Another weekend, another win for the the Sturgis Scooper boys wrestling team as the brought home the team title of the Mid-Dakota Monster in Presho.
The Scoopers finished with 331.5 points, ahead of Pierre (246.5) and Winner (205). Canton (198.5) and Kimball/White Lake/Platte-Geddes (181.5) rounded out the top-five teams.
Winning titles fro the Scoopers were Tyler Baldwin at 120 pounds, Parker Graveman at 132, Gavin Werlinger at 175, Kelson Dirk at 190 and Zhoel Irion at 215.
605 Sports reports the other individual champs were Winner’s Apollo Willuweit (106), Stanley County’s Braylen Williams (106-B), Winner’s Judd Hansen (113), Roukyn Robbins (126), Tea Area’s Tyler Woodring (138), Winner’s Ryken Orel (150), Canton’s Conner Giedd (157), Sisseton’s Holden Hawkins (165) and Winner’s Legend Benedict (285).
In girls wrestling, Canton won the Mid-Dakota Bride of the Monster.
Canton recorded 251 points, ahead of Pierre (166.5) and Spearfish (146.5). Sturgis (126.5) and Bon Homme/Scotland/Avon (122.5) rounded out the top-five team results.
Sturgis crowned one champion with Annalee Pierson at 110 pounds. Spearfish crowned one champion with Candice Matsuda at 130. Custer’s Jessica Hite won at 190 pounds and her teammate Savannah Bell won the 115 pound title.
