STURGIS, S.D. – The Sturgis Scooper girls and boys basketball teams celebrated senior night with big wins over Hot Springs Friday night.
The Scooper girls got 14 points from fellow senior Addy Kossley en-route to a 55-24 victory over the Lady Bison.
Sturgis led Hot Springs 11-7 after the first quarter and picked things up in the second quarter, outscoring the Lady Bison to lead 26-10 at halftime.
Kierra Killinger added 8 points for the Scoopers and Madeline Vliem chipped in 7 points.
In the boys game, Hayden Rock couldn’t be stopped, scoring 24 points as Sturgis rolled to a 60-34 victory.
Gage West was also powerful in the post, adding 17 points for the Scoopers.
The Scooper girls improved to 5-12 on the season with their win while the boys are now 5-11.
