Rapid City, SD – In an action packed 60 minutes the Rapid City Rush beat the Idaho steelheads 6-2.
The frenzied first periods action began with Parker Bowman’s unassisted goal at 16:32. At 15:58 Pilon received 2 minutes for cross checking which Rapid City successfully killed.
Idaho’s first goal came at 13:45 Arcuri (MacDonell, Jardine). Pelton-Byce took two minutes for tripping at 12:47 leading to the end of Rapid City’s power play drought at 11:46. The goal went under review. The Davis ( Bennett, Morin) goal was deemed good as the net did not dislodge prior to the puck crossing the line.
8:02 brought a 2 minute interference penalty to Horvath, then at 6:51 Chyzowski took a two minute minor for slashing. At 6:39 Idaho’s Hoffman (Hreschuk, Dodero) scored their final goal at 6:30 Murphy for the Rush took a 2 minute interference minor penalty. Idaho’s Holmes 2 minute hooking penalty at 3:47 opened up the power play goal for Russell (Wood, Smedsrud) at 2:06.
The first period ended 3-2 in favor of the Rush.

The Rush held the lead in a penalty filled third period in which Idaho changed goal tenders.

Connor Murphy had 35 saves for the win. Kraws faced 26 shots in the first two periods while Barczewski faced only four in the third period.
