DEADWOOD, S.D. – Emergency responders were called to a multi-vehicle accident involving a road grader and two passenger vehicles on Highway 85 late Thursday morning.
Deadwood Fire Rescue was paged to the scene at 11:57 a.m. Officials stated that Truck 4 was operating nearby and arrived on the scene within two minutes to assist potential patients.


Minor injuries were reported in the collision. One individual was transported to Monument Health for treatment. Engine 1 and Rescue 3 responded to the area to assist crews with traffic control while the scene was active.
Several agencies assisted Deadwood Fire Rescue, including the Deadwood Police Department, Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office, South Dakota Commission on Gaming, South Dakota Highway Patrol and Monument Health Ambulance.
