RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Rapid City Rush are bringing a western flair back to the ice this weekend as the team hosts Stock Show Jersey Night on Saturday, January 24, at The Monument Ice Arena.

The specialty night celebrates South Dakota’s deep rodeo roots, blending the energy of professional hockey with the traditions of the state’s official sport. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m., with fans encouraged to arrive early for a full evening of themed entertainment.
As part of the night, the Rush will debut custom rodeo-inspired jerseys, created to reflect the grit, pride, and blue-collar heritage shared by both hockey players and rodeo athletes. Following the game, the jerseys will be auctioned off, with a portion of the proceeds supporting the Western Legacy Foundation, an organization dedicated to preserving western culture and tradition.
The design pays tribute to classic western style, featuring stitched accents, denim-inspired elements, and bold details that mirror rodeo competition gear. Additional graphics nod to championship tradition and the hardworking spirit that defines life in the Black Hills.

Several influential names in South Dakota rodeo history are honored within the jersey artwork, including two-time Calgary Stampede barrel racing champion Lisa Lockhart of Oelrichs, along with legendary figures Casey Tibbs and Earl Thode. The jerseys also recognize organizations committed to preserving rodeo heritage, reinforcing the connection between past, present, and future generations.
Before the game, fans can kick off the night early at the Cowboy Bar, which opens at 5 p.m. with live music and a pregame party atmosphere. Admission to the Cowboy Bar is included with a game ticket, courtesy of Coors Banquet.
Stock Show Jersey Night marks the return of one of the Rush’s most popular theme nights, last held during the 2023 season. The event previously earned league-wide recognition, winning ECHL Theme Night of the Year in 2021.
The Rush will face the Utah Grizzlies throughout the weekend series, with games scheduled for January 23, 24, and 25, but Saturday’s matchup stands out as the featured celebration night.
Tickets are available now through the Rush office at 605-716-7825 or online at rapidcityrush.com.
Fans are encouraged to dust off their boots, grab their jerseys, and get ready for a night where western tradition meets hockey toughness — all under the lights of The Monument Ice Arena.
