RAPID CITY, SD — 23-year-old Logan Everett came into police custody last night, being arrested following a string of two separate incidents in which he allegedly brandished a weapon; a BB gun which according to police reports “was made to look like a real handgun”.

The first of these incidents came at 11:45 p.m. from the Taco Bell located at 449 E. Stumer Road. Witnesses reported that the subject had brandished the weapon at an employee before leaving in a red Nissan pickup. Following this, another such incident occurred when the subject allegedly brandished the weapon from his vehicle, pointing the gun toward a pedestrian at 35 Omaha St.

“The vehicle turned to head north onto the I-190 onramp where a high-risk traffic stop was initiated,” says RCPD Public Information Officer Brendyn Medina, who followed that officers brought the truck to a stop and ordered Everett from his vehicle. “The driver exited the vehicle and was detained without further incident,” says Medina.

A search of his vehicle following the identification of Everett according to police reports resulted in the recovery of a substance which was later found to be crystal methamphetamine, as well as the aforementioned BB Gun. Witnesses from both locations were additionally brought on scene and were able to positively identify Everett.

Everett was placed under arrest for two counts of Simple Assault (Intimidation), Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
