RAPID CITY, SD — The public has two weeks remaining to provide online feedback on the Rapid City Railyard Relocation and Railway Configuration Study.
Last month, the Rapid City Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (RCAMPO) hosted an in-person and online public meeting. The online meeting is an opportunity for the public to provide feedback through February 27 by visiting www.RCrailyardstudy.com/ .
As with the in-person public meeting, the online public meeting features the results of the study, including an analysis of the current railyard, potential railyard relocation sites and a draft set of recommendations and site rankings. The study examines the feasibility of relocating the current Rapid City, Pierre and Eastern Railroad (RCP&E) railyard to an alternate location and potentially reconfiguring the existing transportation infrastructure and access in southeastern Rapid City.
Questions and comments regarding the study can be directed to Kip Harrington at 605-394-4120 (kip.harrington@rcgov.org) or Justin Scott at 763-249-6764 (JScott@srfconsulting.com).
