RAPID CITY, SD — Police have responded to reports of gunshots around the area of Prairie Avenue and Tallent Street, which were allegedly fired by local residents near their home, where several casings were located.
“Police are currently working to call the occupants of the residence out of the house,” Said the RCPD (Via Facebook) who said that no injuries have been reported at this time, but that the nearby South Middle School and South Park Elementary were put on secure status following the report.
Police have said that they are confident the incident is currently contained, and that “there is no reason to believe there is any ongoing threat to public safety,” and that they intend on remaining at the scene until the situation can be resolved in a safe manner.
