If you’ve ever hummed along to “Mr. Bojangles” without even realizing it… yeah, this one’s for you.
After nearly 60 years on the road, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is making one final lap, and that lap includes a stop right here in Rapid City.
The legendary band will take the stage at The Monument on Sunday, June 7, as part of All the Good Times: The Farewell Tour. It’s their last visit to our corner of the map, and if you’ve got even a little love for country, folk, bluegrass, or music that actually tells a story, this is one of those “don’t miss it” nights.
They won’t be coming alone either. Rising country-folk artist Brit Taylor will open the show, setting the tone before the Dirt Band does what they’ve done for decades… bring people together with songs that feel like old friends.
For generations now, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band has been woven into the soundtrack of American life. “Fishin’ In The Dark.” “An American Dream.” And of course, the song that launched a thousand campfire sing-alongs, “Mr. Bojangles.” Their music has crossed genres, generations, and more back roads than most of us could name.
In their own words, All the Good Times pretty much says it all. The band has talked about how much the connection with their audience has meant over the years, that shared give-and-take that only happens in a live room with real instruments and real people. This farewell tour isn’t about slowing down. It’s about celebrating everything that got them here.
Now, the important stuff… tickets.
There’s a presale on Thursday, January 22, running from 10 am to 10 pm. Use the code PEPPER to grab your seats early.
Tickets officially go on sale Friday, January 23 at 10 am, and you’ll be able to snag them at themonument.live.
Six decades of music. One last stop in Rapid City. And a whole lot of good times left to be had.
