RAPID CITY, S.D. – The search for Jeremy Taylor continues today with a variety of resources, air assets and ground equipment. The public is once again asked to avoid the area of Sheridan Lake and Pactola Reservoir, and law enforcement will continue to make door-to-door contact with residences impacted within the search area.

This entire search is taking place while another contingent of law enforcement resources continues to make door-to-door contact with residences inside the search area. The safety of residents living in this area is a top priority.
Search efforts are being challenged by varied terrain, steep hillsides and thick vegetation. Extra caution is being utilized to ensure personnel safety while searching for the suspect. Authorities stated he is known to be armed and well-prepared for outdoor survival.





Members of the Rapid City Police Department, Pennington County Sheriff’s Office, South Dakota Highway Patrol, Pennington County 911 and various other agencies remain committed to utilizing all appropriate resources to locate Taylor.
His safe apprehension is the ultimate goal of this search. Negotiation teams continue to work to make contact with Taylor, and the hope is that he can be located and taken into custody peacefully and safely.
The search was initiated after a Friday traffic stop near Baker Park Road and Sheridan Lake Road. Taylor allegedly drove off, nearly striking a police officer, before fleeing into the woods on foot. Law enforcement officials reported that Taylor was carrying an AR-15 rifle.
Taylor, 37, is wanted on an active arrest warrant out of Ohio for gross sexual imposition, as well as local charges including eluding, resisting arrest and obstruction. He is described as 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing approximately 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a tan hoodie and tan cargo pants.
Agencies will remain on scene throughout the night and into tomorrow. Please report any and all suspicious activity and call 911 if Taylor is encountered. An anonymous tip can also be submitted by texting the letters RCPD and the information to 847411.
