RAPID CITY, S.D. – A group of residents gathered outside City Hall on Omaha Street Friday afternoon to protest U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement actions, joining a wave of demonstrations aimed at showing solidarity with Minnesota.

The protest, held from noon to 1pm., drew participants despite the very cold weather conditions. It was -2 degrees at noon. Demonstrators stood along the busy thoroughfare holding signs to raise awareness of ongoing immigration disputes in the neighboring state.

Organizers stated the event was intended to support communities in Minnesota, which has seen heightened tensions and legal battles involving ICE operations in recent weeks.
