RAPID CITY, SD — GameDay Men’s Health in Rapid City is offering complimentary initial consultations for patients interested in services ranging from testosterone therapy to medically guided weight loss, according to clinic representatives.

Joel, a provider with GameDay Men’s Health, said the clinic treats men for issues commonly tied to aging and lifestyle, including low testosterone, erectile dysfunction and hair loss, and also works with women for services such as weight loss and vitamin support.

“Initial visit is complimentary,” Joel said. “We don’t know what we can do with you until we know your levels and talk options.”

In a recent conversation with Brandon Jones, the two discussed GLP-1 medications — a class of drugs originally developed to help manage blood sugar that has become widely used for weight loss. Joel said the clinic offers compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide.

Joel said GLP-1 medications can help reduce appetite and “food noise” by affecting hormonal signals between the brain and digestive system, but he emphasized that side effects such as nausea and constipation can occur, particularly when patients overeat or don’t adjust nutrition.

“A lot of times we can avoid the side effects by listening to it and doing it the smart way,” Joel said, recommending smaller meals, higher protein intake and adequate hydration.

Jones said he has used testosterone therapy through the clinic and has been considering GLP-1 medication to help reduce weight and improve long-term health, citing concerns about joint strain, sleep quality and future risk of conditions such as diabetes.

“I’d rather try to fight it now than to have heart disease you can’t come back from,” Jones said.

Joel said weight loss can be “multifactorial,” involving genetics and behavior, and noted that some patients regain weight after discontinuing GLP-1 medications. He said the clinic typically starts patients on lower doses, monitors progress monthly, and aims to maintain patients on the lowest effective dose while encouraging exercise and dietary habits to preserve muscle mass.

“If you aren’t doing some weight-bearing exercise at least three days a week, if you aren’t eating a protein goal every day, yes, we’re going to get muscle mass loss,” Joel said.

The clinic uses body composition analysis to track fat and muscle changes beyond the number on a scale.

Joel said. The clinic can be reached at (605) 204-6757, and also posts information on social media.

“Worst case scenario is you don’t need anything,” Jones said. “You’ve made the contact and you’re like, cool — I’m glad I’m here.”
